When Will America Stop Going Broke

When will America realize that bigger government programs are not going to be the answer to the nation’s issues.

  • The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. The fed has had 234 years to get it to make a profit, but it is broke.
  • Social Security was established in 1935. The fed has had 74 years to make a profit, but it is broke.
  • Fannie Mae was established in 1938. The fed has had 71 years to make a profit, but it is broke.
  • The “War on Poverty” started in 1964. The fed has had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of America’s money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the poor” but the poor seem to still be with us.
  • Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. The fed has had 44 years to make a profit, but it is broke.
  • Freddie Mac was established in 1970. The fed has had 39 years to make a profit, but it is broke.
  • The Department of Energy was created in 1977. The fed said the purpose was to lessen America’s dependence on foreign oil. The program exceeds 16,000 employees, being paid by American tax dollars. The budget for the program is$24 billion a year yet we import more oil than ever before. The fed has had 32 years to make it work but it has been an incredible failure.

Right now, despite all protest from American citizens and proof of failure in other countries, there is a proposed health insurance “fix” which will cost a “mere” 890 billion dollars.

When will America understand that ANY government program means one thing… a larger government, employing increasing numbers of people being paid by tax dollars. It really seems the current group on capitol hill is only increasing the  job growth in one sector…  government jobs. How many czars do we have? How many government employees have been hired to help run our new purchases in automobile manufacturing? How many government employees have been hired to run our newly acquired mortgage lending companies?

How quickly is America moving to the point where there are more people working for the government than in the private sector? As a result, government wants more tax money from the private sector so it can continue to maintain itself and grow ever larger.

Why does the government want to take over the health care of the American citizen? Maybe it is because health care is 16% of the gross national product. Imagine what the American government could do if they had more control of that pie? Since the goal is government growth, why would the powers that be want to leave such a large part of the economy in the hands of the private sector?

When will America realize that if the government really wants to fix the medical insurance problem they need to get out of the business. True medical insurance reform legislation should cost the American taxpayers ZERO dollars, not 890 billion dollars.

What are you going to do to make sure that tax spending is going to decrease rather than increase?
